Extended Holiday Return Policy
American Girl® is dedicated to helping you make this season unforgettable. We want to make sure that your holiday online shopping experience is as joyful and convenient as possible, so we’ve extended our return policy through the holiday season.
Our limited-time holiday return policy applies to purchases from September 3, 2024 through December 31, 2024. To get a full refund, initiate a return for the item(s) within 90 days of delivery or by January 31, 2025 (whichever date is later).
All other stipulations of our Standard Return Policy including non-returnable items, products designated “final sale”, etc. apply.
Easy online returns
We hope that you and your girl love your purchase from American Girl. If for any reason you don't, we'll try to find a way to make it right with an exchange, merchandise credit, or refund for purchases within 90 days of delivery or by January 31, 2025 (whichever date is later). Be assured we'll do our very best to take care of you, but from time to time, we will not accommodate a return.
Refunds and credit
• A merchandise credit will be issued if the purchase cannot be verified.
• A refund or credit will be issued for the purchase price, current list price, or prorated price depending on the item(s) returned.
• We reserve the right to assess the value of items returned.
• Create Your Own Dolls and Garments, dolls with ear piercing, and shipping and processing fees are non-refundable.
• Items designated as "final sale" cannot be returned.
• American Girl will accept returns and exchanges on any item within the Janie & Jack Collection for 30 days after purchase. After 30 days, all sales are final. No returns, refunds or exchanges.
Return options
• You may return or exchange your item(s) at any American Girl store location.
• To ship your return, please follow the steps below.
• All purchases made at the American Girl Outlet are final and may not be returned or exchanged..
• Note that we only accept returns of products purchased directly from American Girl. Please return all other products to the original place of purchase. All returns are monitored and may be limited.
Step 1: Complete and print a return form.
Step 2: Prepare your return package using one of two options and send it to us.
Be sure to securely pack your completed return form, product(s), and proof of purchase in a sturdy cardboard box. For prepaid shipping labels, remember to record the tracking number to monitor the delivery status.
Option 1: Print a prepaid shipping label—we will deduct $6.95 from your refund for use of this label. Attach it to your box (remove any other addresses and barcodes), and give it to any postal carrier or post office.
Option 2: Send your return through a common carrier (such as FedEx or UPS) or insured mail to the address below.
